Poland’s energy market in 2014

The market situation in the energy sector was challenging in 2014. The data show that electricity production in Poland fell to 156.6 TWh, i.e. down 3.7 percent. However, hard coal-fired generation units saw their production shrink by more than 5 percent. Domestic electricity consumption rose to 158.7 TWh, i.e. up 0.5 percent. 2.2 TWh of electricity was imported from neighboring countries to meet the demand for electricity.
